Income grew much faster than profit. Total income rose 59.4% year on year, while net profit rose 21.8% and profit before tax 23.0%, so the net profit margin fell from 2.88% to 2.20%.
Finance costs rose from ₹15.12 crore to ₹33.18 crore, now 1.7% of total income, against 1.2% a year earlier. Depreciation rose 37.9% to ₹9.38 crore over the same period. The filing gives no reason for the rise in finance costs.
Other income of ₹22.00 crore is 36.9% of profit before tax of ₹59.56 crore, up from ₹11.37 crore a year earlier. Without it, profit before tax would have been lower; the notes give no breakdown of the other income.
The filing reports no extraordinary items for the quarter or the half year. The statutory auditors' limited review found nothing to indicate the results were not prepared in accordance with Ind AS. The company has one reportable segment, winding wires manufacturing.
Against the previous quarter, total income rose 10.8% but net profit fell 6.6%, and finance costs rose 129.2% from ₹14.48 crore. The filing does not give a reason for the change in inventories or the rise in trade payables and receivables in the half year.
Inference
The board approved two additional secured working capital facilities from HDFC Bank Limited, of ₹135 crore and ₹70 crore, both ranking pari passu with other secured lenders. It also allotted 37,50,000 12% compulsorily convertible debentures of ₹400 each on 25 Sep 2026, aggregating ₹150 crore on a preferential basis, convertible into equity at 1:1 at the investor's option after 12 months and before 18 months from allotment. The filing says the CCD proceeds have not been deployed, with CARE Ratings Limited as monitoring agency.
The outcome refers to the ₹0.35 dividend both as an interim and as a final dividend, so the filing does not settle which it is. The filing does not say how the ₹150 crore of CCD proceeds will be used beyond the stated objects or when, and it does not give the reason for the rise in finance costs.
