Steel Authority of India Limited has told the exchanges on 7 Oct 2026 that CARE Ratings, in a press release dated 6 Oct 2026, reaffirmed its long-term rating at CARE AA and revised the outlook to Positive from Stable. Long-term bank facilities of ₹14,850 crore carry the rating, short-term bank facilities of ₹48,250 crore are rated CARE A1+, and commercial paper of ₹8,000 crore is also CARE A1+. The rating on bonds was withdrawn.
CARE’s rationale attributes the outlook revision to its expectations for the company’s performance, and was filed with the intimation.
Inference
The positive outlook signals a higher chance of an upgrade than of a downgrade, but the rating is unchanged. The withdrawal on the bonds is shown without a reason in the text reviewed here.
