Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has told the exchanges that it has invested ₹10 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited (SESL), by subscribing to its equity shares in cash. The disclosure was made on 12 Oct 2026 under Regulation 30 of the SEBI listing rules.
SESL is setting up a greenfield plant at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, to make high-efficiency solar DCR cells and solar PV modules, with a production capacity of 2.20 GW. The filing describes SESL as a maker of solar structures and rooftop solar that is expanding into cells and modules. It was incorporated on 6 Sep 2010, and its turnover for FY26 was ₹239.11 crore.
The company says the investment is in a wholly owned subsidiary and so does not count as a related party transaction needing an arm’s length test, that it was completed the same day, and that no government or regulatory approval was required.
Inference
The amount of ₹10 crore is small next to the project’s scale of 2.20 GW of capacity, so the filing’s figure is one instalment of funding and not the cost of the plant. The filing does not state the total project cost or the timeline.
The subsidiary already earns revenue from solar structures and rooftop systems, so the new plant extends an existing business into manufacturing the cells and modules themselves.
