Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has reported unaudited results for the quarter and half year ended 30 Sep 2026. Revenue from operations for the quarter was ₹1,456.33 crore, up about 14.1% from ₹1,276.07 crore in the same quarter a year earlier and slightly lower than ₹1,487.11 crore in the June 2026 quarter. Total income was ₹1,475.56 crore.
Profit before tax was ₹29.40 crore, against a loss before tax of ₹2,622.52 crore a year earlier. The year-earlier quarter included an exceptional loss of ₹2,638.42 crore. Profit before tax in the June quarter was ₹70.82 crore, and for the half year it was ₹100.22 crore against a loss of ₹2,527.29 crore.
Direct project costs were ₹380.12 crore for the quarter and employee costs ₹41.24 crore. The statement is unaudited and was reviewed by the statutory auditors, and the auditors' report refers to branches located outside India.
Inference
The swing from a large loss to a small profit is mostly the absence of the year-earlier exceptional loss. Without that item, the year-earlier quarter would have shown a profit before tax of about ₹16 crore, so the comparison is better made on the pre-exceptional line.
