Vindhya Telelinks Limited has told the exchanges that it received on 9 Oct 2026 at 3:33 PM an order dated 8 Oct 2026 from the Joint Commissioner in the office of the Commissioner (Appeals), Central Goods and Services Tax Appeals Commissionerate, Jammu. The order confirms a GST demand with interest and penalty for the financial years 2018-19 to 2022-23. The company made the disclosure on 10 Oct 2026 under Regulation 30 of the SEBI listing rules.

The demand was made under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017 and the J&K GST Act, 2017, over what the authority says is the availment of ineligible input tax credit. It is made up of GST of ₹6,13,404, interest of ₹3,47,573 calculated up to 10 Oct 2026, and a penalty of ₹6,13,404, a total of ₹15,74,381. The company says the financial impact cannot be determined at this stage and that it will be filing an appeal.

    Inference

The appeal authority has upheld the demand, so the company would have to pay it unless a further appeal succeeds. The total of about ₹15.7 lakh is small.

The penalty equals the amount of the GST, so the total is about two and a half times the tax, with interest added. The filing does not say which forum the company will approach.
