Net profit grew faster than total income. Consolidated net profit rose 81.8% year on year while total income rose 36.6%, and the gap sits mainly in profit before tax, which rose 95.8%, and in the tax line, which rose 160.1% to ₹104.05 crore. The statement gives no reason for the change in tax expense between quarters.

Revenue from operations rose 36.3% to ₹2,603.48 crore, while other income rose 118.7% to ₹15.11 crore. Other income is still small: it is 0.6% of total income this quarter and 3.5% of profit before tax. Finance costs of ₹38.26 crore are 1.5% of total income, so borrowing cost is not a large drag on the quarter's figures.

    The auditors' conclusion is unqualified.

Standalone net profit rose 128.2% year on year to ₹409.36 crore, faster than total income growth of 33.7% and faster than revenue from operations, which rose 33.1% to ₹2,391.65 crore. Profit before tax rose 147.2% to ₹534.81 crore, and tax expense for the quarter was ₹125.45 crore, which is 23.5% of profit before tax.

Standalone other income rose 112.5% to ₹24.42 crore and is 4.6% of profit before tax. Finance costs were ₹26.67 crore, 1.1% of total income, up 16.9% from ₹22.81 crore a year earlier. Standalone operating margin before exceptional items was 27.01% for the quarter, as the filing states.

Quarter-on-quarter, standalone net profit rose 107.8% from ₹196.96 crore in Q1 FY27, against total income growth of 28.4%. The company is engaged in pharmaceuticals business only and has one reportable segment.

    Inference

The filing reports consolidated net worth of ₹5,950.55 crore and a consolidated debt-equity ratio of 0.25 times at 30 Sep 2026, and standalone net worth of ₹5,987.47 crore with a standalone debt-equity ratio of 0.19 times.

The filing does not say whether a dividend has been declared for the quarter, and it does not give the reason for the change in tax expense between quarters or for the year-ago standalone tax figure. A reader would want the first of these most, since it bears on the cash paid out to shareholders.

The results were approved by the Board on 4 Nov 2026, and the auditors' review report on both sets of results is unqualified. The standalone results were recommended by the Audit Committee.
